Update regarding School Services from 7th September
Posted on September 5, 2020
As schools are now going back, we have got some pointers and requirements for pupils travelling on our buses to adhere to.
If you haven’t done already, please put the name of the pupil on the card (this will assist if it is mislaid).
All our buses have hand sanitiser dispensers – please encourage the use of this
1- School bus Services to Harrogate (St Aidans/St John Fishers)
These are all fully sold out and with the exception of X10, there are no daily fares available. Cards have been issued, and only cards for the specific school service will scan on the ticket machine. We can’t take any customers on different buses currently as they are all full and we do not want to overload them.
2 – School services to Prince Henrys Grammar and Wetherby High
Everyone for these should have been issued with a boarding card by Metro. If you haven’t, please contact Metro on 0113 3481122. You can use prepaid Mcards or cash/contactless on these services as before.
For Prince Henrys, please note that PH6 and PH7 will now both serve the estate at Menston, and a new (temporary) PH8 will pick up customers from Bradford Road and Burley In Wharfedale. This is only temporary until we know actual numbers travelling.
3 -School services to Tadcaster Grammar and King James (Knaresborough)
These operate as before and you can pay fares (subject to availability) and use passes bought from us.
For all of the above services, as per Government guidance, we are loading the buses as normal and there is no need for social distancing.
We would like all pupils to wear face coverings throughout their journey and stay seated. We would also ask that they do not eat or drink on the vehicle, and it is imperative that they take any of their litter off with them.
Once at the school, they should then follow the instructions of the teaching staff.
4- School customers on the Service X52 Otley-Harrogate Schools
On this service, as we are using a double deck, we can separate the pupils from the other farepayers.
We would ask that pupils sit upstairs (no social distancing required), and then the lower deck can be kept clear for farepayers.
As this is a Service bus- face coverings must be worn onboard at all times.
